Meet Andrew Bretherton - 2025 LET Scholar

Andrew is an intuitive and passionate winemaker with an unrelenting drive to take beautiful sites and craft them into delicious wines. Currently the Head Winemaker at Juniper Estate, he holds a strong belief in the quality and unique terroir of the Margaret River region, as well as a deep love for Chardonnay.

With nearly 20 years in the industry, Andrew’s journey has taken him to the Mosel, Burgundy, and Chianti Classico, with significant winemaking stints at ambitious and quality-focused wineries such as De Bortoli in the Yarra Valley and Deep Woods in Margaret River, where he has been involved in crafting many award-winning wines.

Andrew has recently completed the Next Crop Margaret River leadership program and is excited about regional leadership, driving innovation, and success with current and future generations.

Having judged at regional and capital city wine shows for several years, Andrew is thrilled to absorb the wisdom of the LET tutors and be inspired and challenged by the wines, fellow scholars, and conversations the week will no doubt bring. Andrew looks forward to bringing the ideas and experiences of the week to his work and wine community.
