Meet Katie Spain - 2025 LET Scholar
Katie is an award-winning journalist, author, and wine writer with a remarkable talent for storytelling. Her work is a significant voice in Australian wine and food media, appearing in prominent publications like GOOD FOOD (The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age), WBM, Halliday Magazine, and Gourmet Traveller. She also serves as the Australian correspondent for the Swedish magazine Livets Goda, showcasing her international reach.
Beyond her prolific writing, Katie has authored books on South Australia’s wine and food producers, earning her the 2022 Best Wine Book award. Her numerous accolades include being named Australian Wine Communicator of the Year in 2021 and winning multiple Wine Communicators of Australia Best Published Feature awards.
Katie’s passion for the industry extends to her role as a mentor for Wine Communicators of Australia, and she was an alumna of the 2023 Wine Australia Future Leaders program, where she now serves as a coach. Her dedication and experience make her a true asset to the wine community.
